About Girls Who Gravel

It Started with 800 Kilometres of Dust

In October 2025, I pedaled into the Karoo with no gravel bike, no route experience, and no idea what I was doing. Seven days and 11,000 metres of climbing later, I emerged with something unexpected: the realisation that women in South Africa had no single place to find gravel races, routes, or each other.

So I built it.

Girls Who Gravel exists because one woman showed up to a race not knowing anyone — and came out the other side knowing this needed to exist.

Our Mission

We're South Africa's first platform built for women who ride gravel. From race calendars to route guides, editorial stories to community connection — this is your home base for everything gravel in South Africa.

Whether you've done 100 gravel races or zero — there's room for you here.

Community Vision

We're not about pink and pastels. We're not about expertise. We're about community.

Girls Who Gravel is a space where women can discover gravel riding, find races, share routes, and connect with others who share the same passion for adventure on dirt roads.

The road runs out. The journey begins.
